Khaled al-Odah is an academic and brother of the prominent political prisoner and Islamic cleric Salman al-Odah. Khaled was arrested in September 2017, during a round-up of dozens of academics, journalists, human rights activists and others critical of the regime, after tweeting news of his brother Salman’s arrest.

Violation details

He was denied medical treatment and fell very ill in the prison and required to be transferred to the hospital and admitted in the Intensive Care Unit. During his imprisonment, Khalid developed a heart condition likely due to medical neglect. He was also placed in solitary confinement for a prolonged period of time.
