ALQST is pleased to announce that Maryam Aldossari, Saudi academic and Member of the Board of Trustees of ALQST, will take up the position of Acting Director from October 2026 for a period of six months. She will provide interim leadership during the personal leave of ALQST’s current Director, Julia Legner.

ALQST warmly welcomes Maryam to this new role and has full confidence in her ability to lead and represent the organisation during Julia’s absence. As a longstanding member of ALQST’s Board of Trustees and a prominent Saudi academic, Maryam brings valuable knowledge, experience and commitment to the organisation’s work promoting human rights and freedoms in Saudi Arabia.

During this period, ALQST will continue its work to document human rights violations in Saudi Arabia and bring them to the attention of the international community, while supporting those working for greater rights and freedoms. The organisation remains committed to strengthening its work and partnerships during this period of interim leadership.
